A couple from North Platte has been arrested for first-degree sexual assault of a child, possession of child porn and felony child abuse.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, was tipped off to the activity last month, according to Roland Kramer, chief deputy.
He said the sheriff’s office received a report that Billy Schrader, 31, had sex with a seven-year-old girl. It was also suggested that Schrader might have child pornography stored on electronic devices.
The alleged victim and several other children were questioned at the Bridge of Hope Child Advocacy Center in mid-November, but the interview was inconclusive.
Schrader and his girlfriend, Julia Thiemann, 32, were also interviewed in mid-November. They denied the allegations.
Investigators then searched Schrader’s home and confiscated numerous electronic devices, which were turned over to the North Platte Police Department for forensic analysis. At least four images of suspected child pornography were found on a seized phone Dec. 13.
Schrader and Thiemann were interviewed again and denied any knowledge of the images on the phone.
Children living with the couple were removed from the home and handed over to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
In a subsequent interview, one of children told authorities that Schrader had sex with her. She also said Thiemann joined in the sexual acts and photographed her.
Kramer said only one victim has been identified so far. He said the investigation will continue and more charges may be possible.
