The 2012 North Platte Walk to End Alzheimer's drew around 150 walkers to the Golden Spike Tower and Visitor Center on Sunday afternoon and raised more than $16,000 to help end the disease that is the country's sixth leading cause of death.

Peggy Mata received the Helen Bell Award.
