How much rainfall would it take to topple Kingsley Dam? Officials with the Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District plan to find out.

The CNPPID board of directors has entered into a $115,550 contract with the engineering firms Mead and Hunt of Madison, Wis., and Ayres Associates of Eau Claire, Wis., to perform a probable maximum flood analysis. It's a study required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
