Nebraskans had better enjoy the warm weather while they can, or so local meteorologists say. The first snow of the season is already in the forecast for later this week.
"It's pretty early for snow," said Kenny Roberg, lead forecaster for the National Weather Service in North Platte. "We usually don't have cold enough temperatures for that this time of year, so it's pretty rare for it to happen. It usually comes later in the month. Only on a few occasions have we had snow in early October."
