Charlotte A. (McNeil) Shepherd, 71, of Tampa, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on June 5, 2013, following her courageous battle with brain and lung cancer.

She graduated from North Platte Senior High School and went on to Denver University.

Charlotte was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and sent care packages to our troops. She donated weekly packages of food to the homeless ministry and was dedicated to the "Women in the Word" Bible Study.

She loved history, traveling, animals, gardening, baking cakes for her friends and sending cards of gratitude and encouragement to others.

Charlotte was compassionate and had a loving spirit. She will be cherished and forever missed by her family.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jamie; her father, W. Bernard; her mother, Dolly; her brothers Walter, Douglas, and three infant brothers.

She is survived by her daughters, Kelli, McNeil and Jodi (Renie) Martin; her grandsons, Josh (Mandy), Nicholas, and Cody, all of Tampa, Fla., and Kyle; her brothers, Tom (Susan), of Taylor, John, of Denver, Colo., and Patrick, of Decatur, Ala. She was also gifted with a great-grandson, Jesse, who brought such joy to her life.

She leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many cherished friends.

A memorial service for her was on June 13. Expressions of condolences may be sent to her daughter, Jodi, at Jomartin525@aol.com.
