NDED accepting comment on Affordable Housing Act plan
LINCOLN — The Nebraska Department of Economic Development will accept public comments through April 22 to gather input regarding the amended 2019 Nebraska Affordable Housing Act Qualified Allocation Plan.
Copies of the amended QAP can be accessed on the DED website at opportunity.nebraska.gov/grow-your-community/reports-plans. Copies can also be requested by contacting DED housing specialist Evan Clark at 800-426-6505, 402-471-4679 or email@example.com.

Tosca Lee to speak at Wilson Public Library
COZAD — Wilson Public Library in Cozad is hosting author Tosca Lee at 6:30 p.m. on April 17. The Nebraska author has published multiple New York Times best-sellers beginning with “Demon: A Memoir” in 2007. She will discuss her newest book, “The Line Between,” which is partially set in Nebraska. In January, it was announced that Edward Burns will develop it into a television series. The second book of that series, “A Single Light,” will be released this fall. Additionally, Lee has co-authored the Books of Mortals Series with Ted Dekker as well as several Christian-based fiction books.
She is a former Mrs. Nebraska. Her father, Professor Emeritus and Regents Distinguished Scholar Sang M. Lee, chaired the Business Management Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for more than 35 years. Lee’s mother is a native of Elwood and her great, great, great grandmother was one of Nebraska’s first women homesteaders.
Books will be available for sale and autographs that evening. The discussion is free and open to the public.
Senior center hosting bake sale
OGALLALA — The Keith County Senior Center is hosting a bake sale to raise money for the center activities.
Orders can be placed through April 12 by calling 308-280-0703. Items can be picked up from 12:30 to 6 p.m. on April 19.
Items include chocolate, peach or sweet potato cake; cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting in packages of six or 12; caramel cinnamon rolls, also in packages of six or 12; banana, zuchini, wheat, sourdough and rye pumpernickel loags of bread; dinner rolls; and chocolate chip, butterscotch, peanut butter and snickerdoodle cookies.
Community breakfast is Sunday
SUTHERLAND — The Sutherland Legion Community Hall will host its monthly community breakfast from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at the hall, 130 S. Maple St.
The recommended donation is $6 for adults and children 6 and older. Children 5 and younger eat free.
