Stories of cowboys and cattle are always colorful and exciting. On Friday, the public is invited to hear the Western Cattle Trail come to life through tales from masters like Gary and Margaret Kraisinger, award-winning authors of “The Western: The Greatest Texas Cattle Trail, 1874-1886.”

“Images Unleashed,” a collection of photographs from the Museum of Nebraska Art, is the second of three gallery shows this semester at the Wrightstone Fine Arts Gallery on the McCook Community College campus. It will run through Oct. 19.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States celebrated 119 years in July at its convention in Kansas City, Missouri.

After two weeks at McCook Community College Summer Kids Academy theater summer camp, 24 area students in kindergarten through eighth grade will perform “Honk!” tonight and Saturday on campus.
