The North Platte Opportunity Center is honoring two people for the month of May.

Rosie Merrell

Merrell has been working with the North Platte Opportunity Center for 12 years.

According to a press release from the organization, she is always on time for work, willing to help others and does her work with a smile on her face. Merrell is a hard worker and is currently a part of the janitorial crew, the release said.

Merrell has worked at Applebee’s for three years and recently worked at Dairy Queen.

She participates in several Special Olympics events, loves to bowl with friends and enjoys many other community events.

“Merrell is kind and is a shining example to others whom work with her on a daily basis,” the release said. “Rosie is a very important part of team NPOC.”

Joshua Lease

Lease has worked for the North Platte Opportunity Center for four months and daily goes above and beyond to make the lives of those the center serves better and happier, the release said.

“He is always willing to help out whenever possible and is very dedicated to his work,” the release said.

Lease is a direct support staff in day services, working on the production floor. He also drives the bus for day services, helps with technical issues and has also covered shifts in residential when asked.

“Joshua is a shining star and is the type of staff that gives of his best every day for those we serve,” the release said.
