Two area youths who were reported missing last week are back with their families.
According to North Platte Police Officer Beth Kerr, Cheyann Courtney, 17, was reported missing last Tuesday and Eleazar Rodriguez Jr., 17, on Friday. Kerr reported that the North Platte police dispatch center was informed on Sunday that the teenagers had been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the El Paso, Texas, Port of Entry to Mexico. They were “turned over to the El Paso Police Department to await their parents’ arrival and turned over to their custody,” Kerr said.
Courtney’s father, James Courtney, said his daughter was in good health and the family was “all ecstatic” about her safe return.
