Applications open for more Farm Bureau assistance

LINCOLN — The Nebraska Farm Bureau Disaster Relief Fund has opened a second round of distributions. Applications are welcome from new and repeat applicants.

The fund has collected more than $2.5 million, with all of it helping farmers, ranchers and rural communities. To apply for assistance, access other disaster resources, or donate, visitnefb.org/disaster. Bureau membership is not required to apply for or receive assistance.

Cottonwood Lake SRA reopened

MERRIMAN — The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has reopened Cottonwood Lake State Recreation Area.

Park superintendent Diane Burress said visitors to the park should be cautious and choose camping areas wisely. Shallow water is over some of the paved entrance road, and some camping areas are still flooded or muddy.
