NPHS hosts annual in-house music contest

Director Leah Purdy and accompanist Carolyn Cline lead the North Platte High School Concert Choir Friday afternoon during its performance at NPHS’ annual in-house music contest in the school’s Performing Arts Center. NPHS vocal and instrumental music students competed for superior ratings as soloists, small groups and ensembles throughout the late afternoon and evening. The school’s Music Department holds the NPHS-only contest each year as an alternative to the annual Nebraska School Activities Association’s district music contests, which are being held this month across the state. Many smaller and medium-sized west central Nebraska schoolswill compete Monday at the NSAA District Music Contest at Hershey High School.
