Ogallala Taco John's celebrates official opening

Ogallala commemorated its new Taco John’s with a ribbon cutting on Thursday.

After opening its doors in late June, Taco John’s celebrated its grand opening in Ogallala with a ribbon cutting Thursday.

The event featured prizes and other food specials throughout the evening. The restaurant, 302 Oregon Trail Drive, plans to offer 99 cent tacos through Sunday.

The restaurant is open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. every day, and serves breakfast every day until 11 a.m.

Mick Moul, Kevin Reiss and Mike Tuttle, all Ogallala natives, own the restaurant franchise, according to a June press release announcing the restaurant.

Moul grew up near a Taco John’s, which has 400 fast-food Mexican restaurants in 23 states, according to press releases announcing the restaurant. In the press release, Moul said he was excited for Taco John’s to return to Ogallala, and had heard the same sentiment from many others.
