The Nebraskaland Days Parade is full of tradition and is something people look forward to every year. Teresa Bradney is no exception — this is her 29th year attending the parade.
Her friends sitting with her by the Great Western Bank said that it is her favorite day of the year and gave her the unofficial name of “the parade lady.” Bradney just laughed it off, but did agree it is one of her favorite days of the year.
You can see Bradney waving at almost every float and cheering the name of the business, as she collects candy, T-shirts and other various items for her family and friends.
The spot is south of her husband’s business Bradney Heating and Cooling, where she and her friends have camped out every year they’ve been in North Platte.
Nebraskaland Days has even become a family tradition, with her toddler grandchild visiting for the festivities.
“I enjoy all the people that come to town, and there is lots of family time,” Bradney said. “This is definitely something I look forward to every year.”
Bradney added she was lucky this year, winning free tickets to the rodeo, and her son won free concert tickets.
The parade showcased businesses, rodeo queens and pageant winners, antique cars and floats. The parade lasted a little bit over an hour and a half.
“These seem to get longer every year,” Bradney said as the parade was on its final stretch.
