A rollover accident early Monday two miles west of North Platte on Interstate 80 resulted in three arrests.
The incident happened at 3 a.m. at mile marker 175. A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both from Iowa, had minor injuries and were treated at the scene, Lincoln County sheriff’s deputies said. They were a 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both from Iowa.
A third person fled with a large blue duffel bag. Deputies later caught the 26-year-old man, who was treated at Great Plains Health for minor injuries. Deputies later located the duffel bag, which contained marijuana and marijuana products.
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and searched the vehicle to find many marijuana bags, marijuana edibles, THC wax, THC patches and $500 of counterfeit $50 bills.
All three individuals were arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana over one pound, money and controlled substance violations, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. They were jailed in Lincoln County Detention Center.
