Traffic stop leads to cocaine bust near Hershey

Nebraska State Patrol troopers arrested two people and seized two pounds of cocaine after a traffic stop Thursday on Interstate 80 near Hershey.

About 9 a.m. Thursday, an eastbound Cadillac Escalade failed to move over while a trooper was finishing another traffic stop on I-80, according to a press release from the State Patrol. The trooper stopped the Escalade near mile marker 163.

During the traffic stop, troopers searched the vehicle and found two pounds of cocaine hidden inside the backrest of the driver’s seat.

The 36-year-old driver and 30-year-old passenger, both of Chicago, were arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver, and no drug tax stamp. Both were lodged in Lincoln County Jail.
