Donna Magner

Donna R. Magner, 75, of North Platte, formerly of Kearney, passed away June 4, 2019, at North Platte Care Center.

Donna was born on Sept. 13, 1943, in North Platte to Leon and Frances (Tyson) McMorris. She received her education from North Platte High School, graduating with the class of 1961.

On Nov. 26, 1961, Donna was united in marriage to Larry Magner in Hastings. To this union three children were born; Steve, Kip and Brian. The couple lived in the communities of North Platte, Hastings and O’Neill. In 1986, they moved to Kearney. In 2011, Donna moved to North Platte to be closer to her family.

She enjoyed shopping, fishing, camping and watching tennis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents; brother, Alan McMorris; and sister, Helen Vencil.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Steve Magner and wife, Beth, of North Platte, Kip Magner and wife, Pam, of Lincoln, and Brian Magner of Axtell; five grandchildren, Josh, Lauren, Logan, Aubrey and Garrett; sisters, Nancy Pauley of Park Forest, Illinois, and Kay Pearsel of Texas; and other relatives and many friends.

Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church in Kearney or Bethphage Mission in Axtell. Online condolences may be shared at osrfh.com.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 7, at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home, Kearney, with the Rev. Brian Klein officiating. Burial will follow the service at Kearney Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
