Marlin William “Marty” Manske, 79, of North Platte, passed away June 12, 2019, at his home.
Marty was born on June 5, 1940, in Pierce to William and Lela (Riley) Manske.
He started working for Missouri Valley Construction when he was 15 years old, working all over Nebraska. He settled in North Platte in 1958, where he met Sandra Dempcy. The two were married Jan. 18, 1959, in North Platte. Marty later was employed by Empfield Construction and later hired out on the Union Pacific Railroad as a carman, retiring Jan. 8, 2002. He owned and operated Marty’s Saw Shop for 28 years.
Marty liked outdoor work, chocolate and his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy, of North Platte; children, Jody (Dennis) Paxton and Brad Manske, all of North Platte, Bryan (Marie) Manske of Ankeny, Iowa, and Angie (Brian) Blagdon of North Platte; grandchildren, Joshua Morris, Jacob (Chandra) Morris, Jeremy Morris, Conrad (Sarah) Manske, David Manske, Karissa (Adam) Manske, Taylor Blagdon, and Austin Blagdon; several great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nadene Korth of Brule and JaNelle (Bruce) Hovie of North Platte.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Pastor Job Vigil officiating. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
