Michael Scott Cooper, 63, of Pacific Junction, Iowa, passed away April 19, 2019, in Omaha.
He was born Nov. 9, 1955, in McCook to Keith Regis and Delila Ruth (Thomsen) Cooper.
Michael enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on Aug. 15, 1974. He received a Purple Heart after being shot while serving in Cambodia. Michael was united in marriage to Rhonda Kay Sego-Hastie on Dec. 6, 1997, in Pacific Junction. He was employed as a truck driver for Feed Energy. He loved his pets, reading, going to rodeos, listening to country music and watching old westerns.
He was preceded in death by his father, sister Marianne and niece Serena.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Cooper, of Glenwood, Iowa; mother, Delila Cooper of Curtis; siblings Mark Cooper of Papillion, Barbara (Dale) Grobe of Curtis, Susan (Roy) Roberts of Plattsmouth; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends.
Services were April 26 at Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood, Iowa. Burial with military honors was April 29 at Omaha National Cemetery in Omaha.
