Recently I substituted at North Platte High School for five days for an algebra teacher. What a shock.

Most, but not all students, entered the room with no purpose other than to use their phones to text, listen to music or call other students. After assigning worksheets or tests, I was shocked to see some students going online to find answers to the assignments.

As a results of the cellphone abuse, I would encourage teachers at NPHS to do away with cellphones during class. Until that happens, I doubt that I will continue to sub at NPPS.
