The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 163 wishes to say “thank you” to the volunteers that helped with Poppy Day distribution on Saturday. Our volunteers included RSVP members, Civil Air Patrol, Job’s Daughters, members of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 163 and several of the rodeo queens.

“Thank you” also goes to the businesses that allowed the volunteers to distribute the poppies at their locations: both Gary’s Super Foods, Shopko, Walmart, Ace Hardware, Hobby Lobby, Perkins Restaurant, Do-It-Center and four Kwik Stop locations.

Also “thank you” to everyone who chose to wear a poppy to honor our veterans. All freewill donations collected on Poppy Day go to Nebraska veterans programs administered through the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 163 in North Platte.
